Why I Chose Business Over Employment

I had no dream of being in business. I wanted to be a pilot, a fireman, even a vet. But I had one problem that is still with me today: an issue with authority.
I served in an elite military unit, and I was OK with authority because it served me, but once it no longer served me, it was over for me. This has been my life's story. If it gives me something, then fine, but once it doesn't, I'm out.
I'm not talking about not stopping at red lights and keeping laws. I'm talking about being told what to do when I actually have a free choice to do differently.
And this was the constant conflict I had with the workspace, doing dumb shit just because everyone else is doing dumb shit.
I also didn't like not seeing the direct correlation between my work and the company's success. This I solved in part by leaving corporations and working for startups. I enjoyed working for startups because the dumb shit is reduced, but it's still not perfect.
For me, working for someone or owning a job (self-employment) is more or less the same thing, but owning a system, something that brings you income while you sleep, is the ultimate goal.
Where I don't join useless meetings, answer stupid questions, and worry about arriving on time.
For me, it's all about building a system that delivers perfect value consistently, and this can only be done in business, not government, not corporations, not startups, but in B2B business.
